Neil Finn teams w/ Stevie Nicks & Christine McVie for new beneft single

Neil Finn is a legend in his own right, having been part of New Zealand groups Split Enz and Crowded House, but recently (pre-coronavirus) he was also a touring member of Fleetwood Mac. (He and Heartbreak Mike Campbell were drafted after Fleetwood Mac parted ways with Lindsey Buckingham). Neil has just released a new solo single, “Find Your Way Back Home,” that has him teaming with Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie. Nicks sings a verse and McVie sings backup.

“Find Your Way Back Home” was written about New Zealand’s homeless population and proceeds go to the Auckland City Mission and their new HomeGround center. Here’s Neil with more:

I was honoured to be asked to write a song – Find Your Way Back Home – to support the fundraising for an amazing new building in New Zealand. It’s called HomeGround and is being developed by the Auckland City Mission to create a path for many of our people to find their way back home.

I was so grateful to have the talent and support of my Fleetwood Mac bandmates Stevie, Christine and Mike along with my son Elroy and fellow Kiwi singer Georgia Nott to help me make this recording. Stream the song here with all royalties going to the Mission.

I have always been aware of how important the City Mission is in our community, representing and supporting every day the homeless people of Auckland. Now more than ever, as we shelter in place I am reminded that everyone deserves to have a home where they can feel safe and be well.

Meanwhile, Neil has also been doing twice-weekly livestreams, and has gotten Crowded House back together, virtually, to perform hits “Don’t Dream It’s Over” and “Something So Strong”:

Neil’s livestreams have also included some covers, like David Bowie’s “Heroes,” Prince’s “When Doves Cry” and Beach Boys’ “God Only Knows:

Neil’s next livestream happens Saturday, May 30 at 6 PM Eastern.
