Neil Young announces 2019 solo shows

Like he did earlier this year, Neil Young will do a short run of intimate solo shows in January 2019. Solo is always one of the most special ways to see Neil, and you’ll be able to do that in Milwaukee, Madison, or at one of three nights in Minneapolis. Tickets are on presale to Neil Young Archives subscribers. All dates are listed below.

Neil’s only other upcoming date at the moment is his big co-headlining show with Bob Dylan in London’s Hyde Park on July 12. The show was to be part of the British Summer Time concert series, which is sponsored by Barclays Bank, but Neil protested against Barclays’ involvement and now the show is proceeding without Barclays as a sponsor. A rep for British Summer Time Hyde Park told Rolling Stone, “Neil Young has made the decision to move away from the Barclaycard presents British Summer Time concert series. Neil Young and Bob Dylan will play a stand-alone concert in Hyde Park on the same date, 12th July. All tickets will remain valid. The Barclaycard presents British Summer Time concert series remains unaffected and will continue as normal with more headliners to be announced in early 2019.”

Neil called Barclays “a fossil fuel funding entity” and said, “That doesn’t work for me. I believe in Science. I worry about the Climate Crisis and am deeply concerned about its massive global ramifications and my beautiful grandchildren’s future… There’s no doubt about it – it’s been a massive fuck up!”
