Neil Young clarifies his position on Trump's use of "Rockin' in the Free World" on 'Colbert' (watch)

Despite an interview where Neil Young seemed to be okay with Donald Trump‘s using “Rockin’ in the Free World,” the Pono spokesman and music icon clarified his position on Trump in a filmed opening backstage segment on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. He told Colbert he asked Trump to stop using the song (and Trump complied), saying “I didn’t like that idea…because of the misogyny and the racism.” He also said he is not cool with the song being used in a pet food commericial or as a late night talk show theme song. He is letting Bernie Sanders use it, however.

Neil was on Colbert to talk about his new album Earth, his Pono player (“It’s even better than a Toblerone…for your ears”), getting involved in the U.S. election despite being Canadian, and he meets a GMO ear of corn. You can watch his segments below.
