New Friends Fest is an all ages, DIY Toronto hardcore/screamo/etc festival organized by New Friends DIY, billed as "a three-day celebration of music, friendship and DIY, showcasing the best of loud and emotive music from across Canada and the US. Operating under a policy of radical inclusivity, this festival aims to foster a space of togetherness and community. Together we can make something great - something communal and shared, co-owned and co-operated - something worth fighting for."

It goes down August 2-4 at The Tranzac in Toronto, and the lineup is looking pretty stacked. It's got reunited vets City Caterpillar and Majority Rule, as well as Lord Snow, Gillian Carter, Respire, Ostraca, Massa Nera, Au Revoir, Frail Hands, Carrion Spring, Eyelet, Fluoride, Foxtails, Dianacrawls, Terry Green, Digest, Pique, Supine, Obroa-Skai, Thisishowitendedintokyo, Amitié, and Karloff.

Three-day passes are on sale now, and individual show tickets and the schedule are coming soon.

The Toronto stop of the Loma Prieta / Jeromes Dream tour also doubles as New Friends Pre-Fest (tickets).

Majority Rule also have a tour with pg.99 coming up. Watch some recent Majority Rule and City of Caterpillar live videos, and listen to some of the other bands playing the fest...
