new Leonard Cohen (listen to 3 songs from the new album)
Leonard Cohen is releasing his first album since 2004's Dear Heather this month. The album, titled Old Ideas, comes out January 31 via Columbia (currently up for pre-order at Leonard Cohen's webstore). That's the cover art above. Towards the end of last year, he revealed the piano-led, "Show Me the Place." He followed that with the album's second single, "Darkness," a smokey blues tune that fits eerily well with Cohen's aged voice. The most recent offering from the album is the whispered ballad, "Going Home," which The New Yorker posted along with a poem, which is also the song's lyrics.
