new Meshuggah album is called 'The Violent Sleep of Reason,' is out in October

Meshuggah

For fans of Meshuggah a new album is still at event status. It’s been four years since 2012’s Koloss, but it seems like longer. Now details are beginning to emerge from Meshuggah’s follow-up, and I’m beginning to get excited. Via an advertisement in the latest issue of Revolver magazine, the album is called The Violent Sleep of Reason, and it drops on October 7 via Nuclear Blast.

Meshuggah have that incredibly exciting tour with High on Fire coming up in the fall, right after the album comes out, so you’ll presumably get a good helping of new material if you catch that tour. It hits NYC and NJ in early November, at the Playstation Theater on November 3 (tickets) and in Sayreville at the Starland Ballroom on November 5 (tickets).

Get psyched by listening to all of Catch-33, and checking out the hazy Revolver ad for The Violent Sleep of Reason, below.
