Cannibal Ox

Plenty of great hip hop shows in NYC are getting announced all the time. We don’t get a chance to write about all of them, so here’s a roundup of some recently-announced stuff coming up:

Veteran underground duo Cannibal Ox finally released the followup to their El-P-produced 2001 debut this year. They’ll play their hometown again in support of it on October 22 at The Studio at Webster Hall. It’s part of a tour with Liam Tracy. Tickets go on sale today (7/17) at noon. Watch their recently-released video for “Harlem Knights” (dir. Steven Tapia) off the new album, their first video in 14 years, below.

Warren G will release Regulate…G Funk Era Part II EP, the sequel to his 1994 debut album Regulate… G Funk Era, on August 6. The first single is “My House,” a previously unreleased collaboration with the late Nate Dogg. Listen below. Warren G celebrates the new EP with a release show on August 9 at Highline Ballroom with EPMD. Tickets are on sale.

D.R.A.M., who if you don’t know by name you may know from his viral single “Cha Cha,” plays SOB’s on on Tuesday (7/21). That show is with Dougie F and Donmonique. Tickets are available.

Kanye collaborator Travi$ Scott has apparently confirmed the release of his upcoming Rodeo album for September 4. While you wait for that, you can see him in NYC on Saturday (7/18) at 50 Kent for the ‘Greatest Day Ever’ show with Trippy Turtle, Shift K3Y and more. Tickets are still available.

Also coming up this weekend and early next week are the three Floetry reunion shows (tickets) and the two Raekwon / Ghostface Killah Only Built 4 Cuban Linx shows (tickets).

Future, who has gotten a lot of hype for his recent mixtapes, has now put out his new album DS2. You can check out the Drake-featuring single “Where Ya At” and a Spotify stream of the whole record below. He’s got a Newark show coming up in August (tickets).

Lil Durk, who recently celebrated Remember My Name at Irving Plaza in June, returns to that venue on September 3. Tickets go on sale Thursday (7/23) at 10 AM.

Legendary duo Pete Rock & CL Smooth play their hometown on September 20 at BB King’s. Tickets are on sale now. Pete also plays the screening of Nas documentary Time Is Illmatic on Sunday (7/19) in Queensbridge Park. That’s a free SummerStage show.

Young Thug, who was recently arrested on drug and weapon charges but then released from jail and also accused of conspiring to kill Lil Wayne, released the new single “Pacifier” off his upcoming album Hy!£UN35. His next NYC show is September 17 at Central Park SummerStage, opening for RL Grime. Tickets are still available. You can listen to his new single below.
