Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds will release new album Skeleton Tree on September 9. That's the cover art above. The LP is tied to Andrew Dominik's performance film / documentary One More Time With Feeling which will screen for one night only on September 8. According to Cave's website, the film will be the first opportunity to hear any of the songs from the new album. A bit more about the film from the press release:

Originally a performance based concept, One More Time With Feeling evolved into something much more significant as Dominik delved into the tragic backdrop of the writing and recording of the album. Interwoven throughout the Bad Seeds’ filmed performance of the new album are interviews and footage shot by Dominik, accompanied by Cave’s intermittent narration and improvised rumination.

Filmed in black-and-white and colour, in both 3D and 2D, the result is stark, fragile and raw, and a true testament to an artist trying to find his way through the darkness.

One More Time With Feeling will screen in NYC at the Landmark Sunshine and the Beekman Theatre on September 8. Tickets for the Beekman and Sunshine will be on sale soon. Information on theaters and tickets for a screening near you is here.
