Nirvana's Krist Novoselic issues update on Trump comments: "I don’t support fascism"

Former Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic has come under fire for posting on Facebook that Trump “knocked it out of the park” with his speech on Monday that called for “thousands and thousands of heavily armed soldiers, military personnel, and law enforcement officers to stop the rioting, looting, vandalism, assaults and the wanton destruction of property,” and for responding to criticism of his post by saying that he is “not a partisan echo chamber.” He then deleted his Twitter and made his Facebook private, but has now made his Facebook public again to issue a clarification. He writes:

To clarify a few things: As an avowed independent, I don’t endorse a major party or candidate. And it feels insane to have to say this, but I don’t support fascism, and I don’t support an authoritarian state. I believe in a civilized society and that we all have to work toward that. Love and thanks to anyone who cares to read this.

He also appears to have deleted his initial post about Trump.
