No Joy Hellhole

No Joy share "Hellhole" video, playing Northside with Amber Arcades (who has a new EP)

No Joy Hellhole

No Joy have made a video for “Hellhole” from their new Creep EP. Says the band’s Jasamine White-Gluz, it features “extremely embarrassing home footage of me as a tween. I was trying to make my own music video to Sheryl Crow’s ‘All I Wanna Do’, but didn’t really know how to use the camera.” It’s a trip back to the ’90s and you can watch that below.

The band will be crossing the Canadian border next month to play Brooklyn’s Northside Festival. The showcase happens at Knitting Factory on June 8 with Dutch singer Amber Arcades and Brooklyn avant-pop artist Eartheater (tickets).

Amber Arcades, meanwhile, has a new EP on the way titled Cannonball which will be out June 2 via Heavenly. Amber recorded it in NYC last September with Ben Greenberg during a couple days off on her tour, and it includes four originals and a cover of Nick Drake’s “Which Will.” You can listen to “Wouldn’t Even Know,” a duet with onetime Coral member Bill Ryder Jones, and two other tracks off the EP, below.

The Northside show is Amber’s only current North American show but all dates are listed below.
