Noctem discuss their favorite albums of 2022

Spanish death metal band Noctem released their sixth LP, Credo Certe Ne Cras, back in October, and as the year ends they’ve collaborated on a list of their favorite albums of 2022. Their picks include Immolation, Undeath, Goatwhore, Megadeth, and more. Read on for the list, in ascending order…

Noctem’s Favorite Albums of 2022

1. Watain – The Agony & Ecstasy

Without doubt, in our opinion, one of the absolute masterpiece albums of Watain’s career so far. This is a band that never disappoints us.

2. Behemoth – Opvs Contra Natvram

The masters of the extreme metal genre show their mastery once again. What more needs to be said?

3. Immolation – Acts of God

One of our favourite American Death Metal bands who certainly do not disappoint with this latest release. We toured together many years ago and as musicians and people, they’re great.

4. Goatwhore – Angels Hung From The Arches of Heaven

Each album of this band is pure gold. Long live Goatwhore!

5. Blood Incantation – Timewave Zero

One of many superb death metal bands coming from the US in recent years – Blood Incantation have created an absolute sledgehammering record in Timewave Zero.

6. Undeath – It’s Time…To Rise From The Grave

Another one of the killer death metal album from of the the kill death metal bands coming out of the US in recent years.

7. Megadeth – The Sick, the Dying… and the Dead

One of the originators of thrash and one of our favourite classic bands. This new record is riffs on steroids, and it’s great to see this band still smashing out strong records!

8. Zeal & Ardor – Zeal & Ardor

Amongst our favourite releases of 2022, Zeal & Ardor have outdone themselves with this epic self-titled album.

9. White Ward – False Light

A wonderfully imaginative release, False Light has been the first time we’ve properly given White Ward a listen and we have no regrets.

10. Amorphis – Halo

For us, Amorphis is another example of a band that finds it impossible to make poor albums. Halo is another masterpiece from the Finnish kings of metal!
