Norwegian improvisational-free-jazz-electronic heavy hitters Supersilent have been defying expectations for 20 years of radical experimentation. Their latest album, 13, was released via Smalltown Supersound, the label that’s home to Lindstrom, Prins Thomas and Dungen. You can stream it below.

Supersilent are in the U.S. for their first shows here in 13 years, playing Knoxville, TN’s Big Ears Festival this weekend. Following that, they’ll head to NYC to play Le Poisson Rouge on Monday, March 27 with Mantana Roberts. Tickets are on sale.

The group’s Helge Sten will play a solo show under his Deathprod guise at Issue Project Room on Tuesday, March 28. That will be Deathprod’s first-ever U.S. show and Arcade Fire’s Jeremy Gara (who also plays Big Ears) is also on the bill. Tickets are on sale.
