Nothing pay tribute to David Berman, cover Silver Jews' "We Are Real"

It’s been a real outpouring of love for Silver Jews/Purple Mountains frontman David Berman, who tragically died on Wednesday, just ahead of Purple Mountains’ first-ever tour. Shoegazers Nothing have paid tribute with a cover of Silver Jews’ “We Are Real” from 1998’s American Water. “American Water was my gateway to David Berman and Silver Jews,” says Nothing’s Dominic Palermo. “I obsessed over that album and anything else I could find with David’s name. I originally recorded this song in the winter of 2016 in my first NYC apartment, but after hearing of his passing last night I decided to finish. David’s music and words have forever left a brand on my soul. May the world not forget him anytime soon.” Palermo puts an ethereal spin on the song, almost in a Spacemen 3 sort of way, and you can listen to that and the original song below.
