Now, Now release first song in five years, announce tour
Now, Now haven't released an album since 2012's Threads, but they're finally working on a followup to it. In the meantime, they've released their first song in five years, "SGL" (aka "shotgun love"). With a strummy acoustic guitar and gleaming synths in the background, it sorta finds the middle ground between '00s emo and '80s pop. If Tegan & Sara made an album that combined their early years with their new material, it might sound like this. Listen to the song below, along with a new teaser video.
In the time since Threads, Now, Now member Jess Abbott has been focusing on her band Tancred, who released Out of the Garden on Polyvinyl last year. NPR, who premiered "SGL," points out that Jess has amicably left Now, Now and KC Dalager and Brad Hale are continuing on as a duo.
The band have also announced a summer tour that hits Brooklyn on July 12 at Rough Trade with Dem Yuut. Tickets are on AmEx presale now, and the public on-sale begins Friday (5/12) at noon. All dates are listed below.
