Veteran DJ and dance music producer Jason Jinx, who was a pioneer in NYC rave culture, has died, reports Resident Advisor. A Long Island native, Jason came up in the club scene of the late-'80s and early '90s, was a member of Frankie Bones' STORMrave crew, DJ'd at the legendary NASA parties at Shelter, and also spun at such iconic spots as The Tunnel and Limelight. "We are at a loss for words finding out our dear friend Jason Jinx Zambito passed away," friends and family write on a GoFundMe to help cover funeral costs. "We lost a titan of creativity who's kindness touched many here in NYC and who's music had a far reach the world over."

Rest in peace, Jason. Listen to some of Jason's mixes and production, and read tributes from fellow DJs, below.
