new Okkervil River video ++ an in-store at Strand ++ win tix to Rough Trade!

Okkervil River‘s new album In The Rainbow Rain comes out April 27 via ATO (pre-order), and so far two songs are out from the album, “Don’t Move Back To LA” and “Pulled Up The Ribbon.” The latter already got the video treatment, and we’re now premiering the video for “Don’t Move Back To LA” in this post. The video splices together shots of Okkervil River in their rehearsal space and WIll Sheff on his own with an acoustic guitar on a farm, a rooftop, in a taxi cab, and more. The clip pairs well with the soulful folk rock of “Don’t Move Back To LA.” Check it out here:

Having recently played some hometown shows during SXSW (including our day party), the Austin band will begin their tour with an intimate album release show in Brooklyn on April 27 at Rough Trade. That show is sold out, but we’re giving away a pair of tickets.

Before the Rough Trade show, Will Sheff will be doing a solo performance, conversation, and album signing at Strand Book Store on April 21. The event goes from 8-10 PM. Tickets, which include a vinyl copy of the new album, are on sale.

An Okkervil River – “Don’t Move Back To LA” billboard also recently went up in Brooklyn, and the band posted a pic of the billboard on Instagram, and wrote, “Repost or take a pic w/ it and then tag a friend who you don’t want to move to LA & you could win a signed copy of the new LP!” Here’s what it looks like:
