Oneida prep 'Romance' (listen to "All in Due Time") touring

Brooklyn weirdo indie rock survivors Oneida will release new album Romance on March 9 via Joyful Noise. It’s the their first non-collaborative album in six years and first since losing their Ocropolis homebase in Williamsburg (the Monster Island building that was also home to the second iteration of Secret Robot Project). The first single is “All in Due Time,” a careening, rhythmically frenetic track that laments for “decent table wine.” “In Oneida, there are both regular metrical pulses/units, and more organically-derived rhythms that seem at first to be completely free, or working in opposition / dissonant periods to the regular stuff,” the band’s Bobby Matador told NPR, “but they eventually reach a rhythmic harmony “in due time” — and it’s not necessarily scripted or composed, but we understand how to use this technique and let it unfold in the moment.” Listen to “All in Due Time” below.

Oneida will be on tour later this year, beginning with a record release show at Secret Project Robot on March 3 with Kill Alters and Cristy & Emily (tickets). All dates are listed below.

Meanwhile, People of the North (Oneida’s Bobby Matador and Kid Millions) will play Trans-Pecos on February 24 with Glockabelle, and Lalande (tickets).
