Brooklyn's Operator Music Band will release their new album, Duo Duo, which is out September 20 via Broken Circles (pre-order). The group's shiny, clinical brand of pop -- populated with gurgling synthesizers, funky krautrock-style drumming, and jazzy chord progressions -- draws comparisons to Stereolab but they bring their own style to the table, with a strong dance element as well. The first single from the album, "Slim Spin," is a particularly gleaming example of what they do, with call-and-response vocals, a very groovy bassline and a few great, soaring instrumental passages. The song premieres in this post -- listen below.

Operator Music Band play Brooklyn's Baby's All Right on July 28 with Lisel and Dominic Sen (tickets).
