Other Music documentary coming to theaters this spring (watch a new trailer)
The Other Music documentary, about the much-loved NYC independent record store that closed in 2016, has been acquired by distributor FACTORY 25 who will release the film theatrically at theaters around the U.S. this spring around Record Store Day (April 18) weekend. With that announcement comes a new trailer for the film, which features interviews with Tunde Adebimpe (TV On the Radio), Regina Spektor, Jason Schwartzman, Matt Berninger (The National), Ezra Koenig (Vampire Weekend), as well as rare footage of in-store performances by Neutral Milk Hotel, Vampire Weekend, The National, Mogwai, The Rapture, and more. You can watch that below.
There are a few chances to see it in NYC, including a week-long run at IFC Center from April 15-21, as well as single night screenings at Nitehawk Williamsburg on April 23 and Alamo Drafthouse Brooklyn on April 28.
The Nitehawk screening is part of the BrooklynVegan presented “Music Driven” series and includes a Q&A with directors Puloma Basu & Rob Hatch-Miller. Tickets are on sale.
Other Music also has screenings in Richmond, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Boston, Dallas, Marfa, Nashville, Miami, Seattle and more. Check out the current list of screening dates below.
