Otoboke Beaver announce new album, share "I Am Not Maternal"
Japanese punks Otoboke Beaver have announced new album Super Champon, which will be out May 6 via Damnably. “Champon” means “a mixture or jumble of things of different types” in Japanese. “It’s a mixture of songs from love to food, life and JASRAC,” say the band. “Our music is genreless and has various elements. We hope that it will be our masterpiece of chaos music. It also sounds like champion.”
The new single from the album is the shouty and fun “I Am Not Maternal,” which comes with a video that was created and animated by the band’s guitarist Yoyoyoshie. Watch that below.
Otoboke Beaver were set to tour this spring, but dates have been postponed to the fall. Rescheduled dates, including a Brooklyn show at Music Hall of Williamsburg on October 5, are listed below.
