Outta Gas

Local punks Outta Gas (mem Giant Peach, For Serious This Time, Cattle Drums) are a relatively new band on the NYC punk circuit but they've already become regulars in the scene. The band now has a follow up to their 2013 debut cassette on the way, a self-titled 7" EP out this May on Dead Broke Rekerds/Life On An Island/All In Vinyl (UK). We're premiering the first new single from that EP, "Every Minute," in this post.

"Every Minute" follows the frenetic pace Outta Gas set with their debut, loaded with careening guitar lines laid over a heavy-thudding drumbeat. The song has singer Alex using his broken shout, and his mile-a-minute delivery is a perfect fit for the song's runaway energy. It makes the two-minute runtime blow by in a breeze.

Dead Broke Rekerds is run by Mike Bruno from Iron Chic and Crow Bait, both of whom have played with Outta Gas before. Dead Broke has a knack for spotting great bands early, as they proved by putting out Beach Slang's first EP last year.

Outta Gas will be heading out on tour in support of the 7" over the next few weeks, with an album release show in Brooklyn at Legion Bar on April 24 with Inkmouth. No advance tickets for that show, but you can find more info here. Most of the other dates are TBA, but you can browse their tour schedule along with the premiere of "Every Minute" below...
