Earlier this week Padma Lakshmi criticised Jimmy Kimmel for saying "ultimately, the audience decides whether someone is welcomed back" in reference to Louis CK, telling him "I know a lot of standups who are NOT ok with sharing a bill with him" and that "A 'background check' isn't really necessary for someone who openly admitted to masturbating in front of/on the phone to female colleagues for decade."

She's now putting her money where her mouth is, announcing today she's throwing a standup show at Brooklyn's The Bell House on October 24 called "Padma Puts on a Comedy Show" featuring "comedians who are *not* Louis C.K." Those comedians include Michelle Wolf, Roy Wood, Jr., Jo Firestone, Patti Harrison, Ziwe Fumudoh, Catherine Cohen, Larry Owens, Pat Regan and "special guests," with hosts Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang. Tickets are on sale and proceeds benefit the Movement Voter Project.
