Pallbearer expand tour, released new song "Dropout"
Modern doom greats Pallbearer followed last year’s excellent Heartless with a new single for the Adult Swim singles series, “Dropout,” last week. Opening with a guitar riff that’s almost more Smashing Pumpkins than Black Sabbath, “Dropout” is one of Pallbearer’s poppiest songs and they continue to do this kind of thing very well. They might technically be a metal band, but this is really catchy stuff that any rock fan could like. Check it out below.
Pallbearer’s tour with Obituary, Skeletonwitch and Dust Bolt starts soon, including the NYC show on May 5 at Gramercy Theatre (tickets). When that tour ends, they’ve got a few summer festival appearances, including Psycho Las Vegas, and they also just added a headlining NYC show for around that same time.
Pallbearer return to NYC for a Kerrang-presented gig at Saint Vitus on July 30 with Sumokem and “special guests.” Vitus is on the small-ish side for Pallbearer these days, so tickets — which go on sale Friday (4/20) at 10 AM — may go quickly.
Pallbearer are also play the big San Bernardino, CA show with System of a Down, At The Drive In, Clutch, and more in October. Updated dates are listed below.
