Parquet Courts celebrated the release of their new EP, Tally All the Things That You Broke, last night at Music Hall of Williamsburg with sets from openers The Beets, Yuppies and Future Punx. During their set, singer Austin Brown mentioned that “Everyone should go see Yuppies again tomorrow at Death by Audio. I hear there are some special guests.” As Yuppies released their new album on Dull Tools, the label co-run by PC’s Andrew Savage, it seemed likely that Brown was talking about his own band.

And that’s the case. Parquet Courts will headline Death by Audio tonight (10/3) and the other “special guest” that was originally listed turns out to be Detroit’s Tyvek who just played there on Tuesday (10/1). PC Worship open the night and tickets are $10 at the door. If you like Parquet Courts, chances are you’ll dig Yuppies’ shouty, skronky (and maybe a little noodly) punk as well. They were terrific last night at MHOW. You can stream their album below.

Meanwhile, Future Punx — which features Savage’s old Fergus & Geronimo bandmate Jason Kelly as well as his Dull Tools partner Chris Pickering — have a couple shows this weekend. They play The Flat on Friday (10/4) and Death by Audio on Sunday (10/6) with Mannequin Pussy, Lust Cats of the Gutters and Kissing is a Crime. If you dig early-’80s manic new wave (Devo, Oingo Boingo, Wall of Voodoo) and impressive keytar-playing, you should definitely check them out. I thought they were great last night. You can stream their new single (which will be out on Dull Tools) below.

Parquet Courts, by the way, put on a great show last night with a healthy pit going for most of their Light Up Gold favorites. Expect a crazier crowd tonight. You can stream their new EP below.
