Parquet Courts releasing collab w/ Bun B, announce 2017 dates w/ Mary Lattimore
You may remember that Parquet Courts performed “Captive of The Sun” on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert earlier this year, and they brought out UGK rapper Bun B for it. The band and Bun B have now made a studio version which will be released on a 12″ via Rough Trade on February 17. It will also include a “Chopped Not Slopped” remix of the song by Houston producers DJ Candlestick and OG Ron C. You can hear a snippet of that remix below.
In other news, Parquet Courts have added a few artists to their high-concept, art-and-music end-of-year show at Queens Knockdown Center on December 10. Sonic Youth’s Lee Ranaldo, Vanity, Eaters are now all on the bill, and there’s still another special guest TBA. They join Flasher, X_____X, Joe Pera, and of course Parquet Courts too. As mentioned, the show also includes the films of Joey Pizza Slice, the art gallery of A. Savage, and a video installation by Eaters. Tickets are still available.
As mentioned, they’ll also play NJ’s Wonder Bar on December 9 (tickets), and they’ve just announced 2017 dates with Mary Lattimore. All are listed, along with the Colbert performance video and “Chopped Not Slopped” remix, below.
