Pearl Jam @ Madison Square Garden, NYC - pics

Pearl Jam have the best fans in the world, no questions asked. What an amazing experience, I don’t think I can say which night it was better. [Metro Distortion]

Legendary? Generic? Amazing? Music for “frat tools”? Whatever you think, Eddie Vedder and band played their 2nd of two sold out shows at the Garden last night (June 25, 2008). The pictures in this post are from night one (June 24).

I heard Ted Leo and the Pharmacists sounded great playing their opening set in the large room. No pictures unfortunately because MSG is strict and confusing with the credentials and Eric was only allowed in during Pearl Jam’s set. More of those pics and some oher stuff below…..

Pearl Jam gave a nod to its classic rock influences last night (June 25) in New York, drafting Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley and Ramones bassist C.J. Ramone for guest appearances during the second of a two-night stand at Madison Square Garden.

Frehley turned up to play lead guitar on Kiss’ “Black Diamond,” which was mostly sung by drummer Matt Cameron, with guitarist Mike McCready, an admitted Frehley obsessive, handling the first verse.

As he’d done the night before, Ramone thundered through his former band’s “I Believe in Miracles” with Pearl Jam. Frontman Eddie Vedder also saluted his guitar tech, Ricky Ramone, who had long worked for the late Johnny Ramone before joining Pearl Jam. [Billboard]
