Everyone's favorite Japanese sci-fi rock band, Peelander-Z, appeared Thursday night (8/17) on ABC's tongue-in-cheek reboot of '70s tongue-in-cheek "game show" The Gong Show, where they performed "So Many Mikes" and did a little human bowling. The celebrity judges -- Priyanka Chopra, Joel McHale, and Wendy McLendon-Covey -- dug it so there was no gonging for them, though their very good score of 27 wasn't quite enough to beat the tween-age twins doing a Trump & Pence impersonation sketch. This new version of The Gong Show, originally created and hosted by Chuck Barris, is now emceed by British television personality Tommy Maitland (actually a heavily made-up Mike Myers). You can watch video of that below.

Meanwhile, in it-was-bound-to-happen-eventually news, Peelander Z also feature in a new Mighty Morphin Power Rangers short film, "Power Rangers Cosmic Drift," which features "Formula DRIFT professional drivers, Matt Field and Chelsea DeNofa, as members of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Cosmic Drift team." You can watch that below as well.

Double meanwhile: Peelander-Z will be on tour this fall, including a show at Brooklyn's Baby's All Right on October 28 (the Friday before Halloween). Tickets for that show are on sale now.
