Perry Farrell preps LP with new solo band, making live debut in LA

Jane’s Addiction/Porno for Pyros frontman (and Lollapalooza co-founder) Perry Farrell is releasing his first solo album in 18 years, Kind Heaven, in 2019. He’s assembled a new backing band for the album, which includes former Soundgarden/Pearl Jam drummer Matt Chamberlain, Jane’s Addiction bassist Chris Chaney, keyboardist Matt Rohde, guitarist Nick Maybury, and Perry’s wife Etty Lau Farrell on vocals. The album also features contributions from Motley Crue’s Tommy Lee, Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins, and Dhani Harrison, and it was co-produced by longtime Bowie collaborator Tony Visconti.

No music is out from the album yet, but Perry will preview it at an LA show on November 30 at Teragram Ballroom. Billed as ‘Perry Farrell’s Kind Heaven Orchestra,’ Perry will be joined by the same backing band he has on the album, and the show will feature support from Dhani Harrison and Palms Station. Tickets go on sale today (11/9) at 10 AM PST.

The band has just one other show coming up: December 2 at The Fillmore in San Francisco, which is on sale now.

Kind Heaven is also the name of the “immersive 360-degree entertainment hub” that Perry plans to open in Vegas in 2019. Porno For Pyros are expected to reunite to perform at it.
