Personal Space releasing debut LP on Tiny Engines (stream it), playing shows

Brooklyn’s Personal Space, who you may have caught opening the BV-presented Klaus Johann Grobe show at Cake Shop earlier this year, are releasing their debut album Ecstatic Burbs this Friday (10/14). It follows a 2014 EP, and it drops via Tiny Engines (home of The Hotelier, Signals Midwest, Look Mexico, and more). It’s shiny, mathy pop with more than a few hints of The Dismemberment Plan, and if you’ve got a special place in your heart for Emergency & I, you owe it to yourself to give this album a few spins. It also dives into a zoned-out krauty jam on the 7-minute “A Weekend With… (The Horse Head),” which is the kind of song that made them a good fit on that Klaus Johann Grobe show. A full stream of the album premieres in this post, and if you like what you hear, you can pre-order it.

Personal Space also have two hometown shows coming up in November: The Gateway on 11/4 and Sunnyvale on 11/18.
