Classic Quadrophenia

Pete Townshend playing 'Quadrophenia' on US tour with an orchestra, Billy Idol & more

In addition to The Who‘s 2017 North American tour, Pete Townshend is taking an orchestral presentation of the band’s 1973 rock opera Quadrophenia on a US tour this year as well. Pete will be joined by Billy Idol, tenor singer Alfie Boe, and an orchestra, like he was when he premiered the project in London in 2015.

Pete said in a statement, “I’m thrilled to be bringing Classic Quadrophenia Stateside through the month of September. Melding the contrasting sounds of Quadrophenia with a symphony has been a really unique and powerful way to reach a wide audience of classical and pop music lovers alike. I couldn’t be more excited to see it continue in the U.S.”

The Classic Quadrophenia tour begins at Lenox, MA’s Tanglewood, it includes two shows at Metropolitan Opera House in NYC, and it concludes at LA’s Greek Theatre.

Tickets for the Metropolitan Opera House shows, which happen September 9 & 10, go on sale Tuesday, June 13 at 10 AM with various presales starting beforehand. All dates are listed below.

The Who’s tour hits Upstate NY, Atlantic City, Outside Lands, and more. Updated tour dates here.
