There's been an influx of bands lately who appear to have been raised equally on punk and heavier alternative rock as well as intimate singer/songwriters, and have managed to expertly combine those sounds. We've seen Speedy Ortiz, Mitski, Waxahatchee, Pinegrove and a handful of others do this, and a newer artist to join that group is Philly's Grayling, the project of 20-year-old Lexi Campion. She's releasing her debut EP, Everything That Burns, on April 15 via NDE Records (pre-order), and we're premiering its new single "Empath," which kinda sounds like Paramore re-envisioned for the Philly DIY scene.
