After night one on Thursday, Phoebe Bridgers returned to Music Hall of Williamsburg on Friday (2/23) for a second sold-out show. Backed by a four piece band on a dimly lit stage festooned with fairy lights, Phoebe offered stirring, hushed renditions of the melancholy songs from her 2017 debut album (our 11th favorite of the year) Stranger in the Alps. Like the previous night, Phoebe was again joined by Conor Oberst, who came out to sing his part on “Would You Rather.”

He wasn’t the set’s only guest, either; Phoebe’s former bandmate Haley Dahl of Sloppy Jane, a band Phoebe used to play bass in, joined Phoebe onstage to cover one of Sloppy Jane’s songs, “Wilt,” whose sad lyrics make it fit well with Phoebe’s own songs. Conor, Haley, and members of opening band Soccer Mommy all came onstage to help Phoebe sing “Scott Street.” After an encore break, Phoebe returned to the stage to perform her cover of Mark Kozelek and Jimmy Lavalle’s “You Missed My Heart.” She closed out the night with another cover: Ednaswap’s “Torn” which Natalie Imbruglia had a big hit with in 1998. Watch video clips of “Would You Rather,” “Wilt,” “Scott Street,” and “Torn” below, and check out pictures from the show in the gallery above.

Soccer Mommy opened the show with a set that included songs from their soon to be released debut LP, Clean. They return to NYC for a show at Rough Trade on May 4 (tickets).
