It's been five long years since Phosphorescent last released an album, 2013's Muchacho, and that album only sounds better with age. Its heartland synth rock vibes, especially on larger-than-life single "Song for Zula," have gone on to enter indie rock's zeitgeist, making Muchacho feel a little prescient. Now he's finally ready to follow it with a new album, C’est La Vie, which comes out on October 5 via Dead Oceans. The first single is "New Birth in New England," which is a little different than Muchacho; it's kinda got Paul Simon/Vampire Weekend vibes. Listen below.

Main Phosphorescent member Matthew Houck produced the album himself, and he co-mixed it with big-name producer Vance Powell (Jack White, Chris Stapleton, etc). That's the artwork above and you can check out the tracklist below. Pre-order it here.

Phosphorescent also announced a fall tour, which has Liz Cooper and The Stampede opening most dates, including the NYC show on December 13 at Brooklyn Steel. Tickets for that show will be on sale soon. All dates are listed below.
