You couldn't have asked for a nicer day for the annual Coney Island Mermaid Parade which happened on the first day of Summer (6/21). While the freak flag flies high at this with pasties considered as formal wear, it was fun for at least one whole family. NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio was there with wife Chirlane and their two kids Dante and Chiara who were also the official Mermaid King and Queen this year.
