pics: Klaus Johann Grobe, Grooms, and Operator @ Shea Stadium

Switzerland's Klaus Johann Grobe's first U.S. tour wrapped up on Thursday night (5/12) at Brooklyn's Shea Stadium, a show presented by BrooklynVegan, that also featured Brooklyn bands Grooms and Operator. The band were in especially good spirits with an even better set than at Cake Shop the night before. Part of that was a crowd that was ready to dance (especially one guy who was really really ready to dance) but the band was really on fire, and they've got an infectious sound that hopefully will be heard by more folks. That will likely happen when KJG return to North America to open for Unknown Mortal Orchestra on tour this summer. Those dates don't include UMO's SummerStage show, but let's hope they play here again soon.
Grooms played a bunch of songs from their new record (which should be out later this year) all of which sounded great, and Operator started things off with their motorik mix of guitars and electronics. A very fun night! Lots more pics from the Shea Stadium show, below.
