Michael Jackson would've been 60 this Wednesday (8/29) and thousands of fans celebrated his musical legacy this past Saturday (8/25) at Spike Lee's annual "Brooklyn Loves Michael Jackson Block Party" on Do The Right Thing Way in the Bed-Stuy neighborhood. Spike and actor Anthony Ramos (who plays Mars Blackmon in Spike's She's Gotta Have It series) led the crowd in singalongs, while Erykah Badu (in town for Afropunk) was on hand for a tribute to Aretha Franklin. The Reverend Al Sharpton and John David Washington (who stars in Spike's new movie, BlacKkKlansman) were also on hand. Check out Instagram pics and video from the block party, below.
