Pig Destroyer destroyed Gramercy Theatre with Despise You and Full of Hell (pics)

Grindcore greats Pig Destroyer are fresh off releasing their killer new album Head Cage, which is their first album with a bassist and which takes their sound into all kinds of new directions for the veteran band. They celebrated with a release show at NYC’s Gramercy Theatre on Saturday (9/22), which had an all-around great bill featuring powerviolence vets Despise You, fresh-faced maniacs Full of Hell, and straightedge supergroup SECT (members of Catharsis, Earth Crisis, Fall Out Boy, etc). We sadly missed SECT but we can confirm that the other three bands totally ripped and Gramercy Theatre was a huge mosh pit the whole night. PD ran through plenty of highlights of their new album but made room for old faves too. Check out their full setlist and a video below, and pictures in the gallery above.

Pig Destroyer have more upcoming shows, including a few festivals and a couple West Coast shows with The Black Dahlia Murder.
