Pig Destroyer Head Cage

Pig Destroyer shared new song, playing NYC w/ Despise You, Full of Hell, SECT

Pig Destroyer‘s first album in six years, Head Cage, will be out on September 7 via Relapse, and they recently released the video for lead single “Army of Cops” and more album details like artwork and tracklist. Head Cage is the band’s first album as a five-piece (and their first with a bassist), and “Army of Cops” proves that with a new lineup, comes a new sound. It’s pretty far removed from the band’s grindcore roots, instead diving into slower metalcore territory, but it’s still heavy as fuck, as you’d hope for from Pig Destroyer. The song features guest vocals from Richard Johnson (who’s in Agoraphobic Nosebleed with Pig Destroyer co-founder Scott Hull and their new bassist John Jarvis), and it’s got a performance video directed by David Brodsky. Check it out below.

Pig Destroyer also have three live dates announced at the moment, with more TBA. They play a NYC show on September 22 at Gramercy Theatre with the truly killer lineup of Despise You, Full of Hell and SECT. Ticket link coming soon. They also play Salt Lake City’s Crucialfest (with Neurosis, Chelsea Wolfe, Russian Circles, and more) and the LA edition of Decibel Metal & Beer Fest (with Testament, Triptykon playing Celtic Frost, YOB, Power Trip, and more).
