Pinegrove playing all-Montclair-bands fest today with Half Waif (& other dates)
Montclair, NJ’s Pinegrove have been one of the best breakout indie rock bands of 2016, thanks to their great album Cardinal (on Run For Cover). they recently wrapped up a tour with Half Waif, which included all three members of Half Waif playing in Pinegrove (check out the band’s tour diary), and they’re touring with Kevin Devine later this year (including NYC’s Irving Plaza on December 8).
Right now the band are back in their hometown, and they’ll be celebrating Montclair TONIGHT (8/26) at Clearmountain Festival. The fest includes “eight bands that got their start in Montclair,” and has Pinegrove as well as Half Waif. It’s hosted by the non-profit Outpost in the Burbs, and it goes down from 4-10 PM at the Montclair Women’s Club (82 Union St). The rest of the lineup has Stolen Jars, Topaz Jones, Werebears, Cranes Are Flying, Shakai Mondai and Gifts. Tickets are available.
