PJ Harvey played Central Park SummerStage (pics, setlist, videos)

PJ Harvey is on tour now in continued support of last year’s The Hope Six Demolition. Having just played Pitchfork Festival, Polly Jean and her band returned to NYC last night (7/19) for their second show in this city of 2017 (the first was the smaller Brooklyn Steel in April). The setlist last night was similar to Brooklyn Steel, with a lot of the new album and its 2011 predecessor Let England Shake, but there were a few slight changes. According to Setlist.fm, it was her first time playing “Shame” off Uh Huh Her in seven years. Like at BK Steel, she played such classics as “50ft Queenie,” “Down By the Water” and “To Bring You My Love.” She also did a Dylan cover in the encore.

For the last two songs of her pre-encore set, “The Community of Hope” and “River Anacostia” (both off the new album), PJ was joined on stage by the Anacostia Union Temple Baptist Church choir. Pictures of the show are in the gallery above. Setlist and some videos below.
