Pokey LaFarge announces new album & tour, shares "Fuck Me Up"
“The man singing these songs isn’t exactly the same man that wrote them; this album is about the story of who I used to be,” says Pokey LaFarge of Rock Bottom Rhapsody, his newly-announced eighth album and his first since moving from St. Louis to Los Angeles. It was produced by Chris Seefried, and the first single is the old timey barroom piano-sounding “Fuck Me Up,” which comes with aa well-matched video directed by Keene McRae and Brandon Bernath. Pokey also announced a world tour, including shows at Jersey City’s White Eagle Hall on June 13 and NYC’s Bowery Ballroom on June 17. Tickets for those shows go on sale Friday (1/24) at 10 AM and the Bowery show is on Citi presale now. All dates are listed below.
Pokey also played a role in the upcoming Netflix psychological thriller The Devil All The Time, which was directed and co-written by Antonio Campos and produced by Jake Gyllenhaal and in-demand music supervisor Randall Poster. That comes out on May 15.
