Polvo announced limited edition, colored vinyl reissues of first two albums

Not only are Archers of Loaf working on their first new music in 20 years, fellow Chapel Hill Merge vets Polvo have something up their sleeves this year too. In their case, it’s some pretty cool-looking reissues: they’re putting out limited-edition pressings of their 1992 debut Cor-Crane Secret on blue & white Peak Vinyl and 1993’s Today’s Active Lifestyles on red & mustard yellow Peak Vinyl. Both will come with “updated-but-familiar” artwork, and Cor-Crane Secret will come with “rare posters and ephemera from the band’s archive” while Today’s Active Lifestyles comes with never-before-seen photos.

The reissues come out February 28 via Merge, and you can pre-order them now, with an option to bundle both LPs with Polvo’s recently-released, expanded self-titled early singles compilation on translucent green Peak Vinyl, which was previously only available as part of Merge’s 30th anniversary Born Under A Good Sign subscription series.

Listen to both albums and the singles comp, watch the video for “Vibracoba” from Cor-Crane Secret, and see a photo of the updated album artworks and colored vinyl, below.

Polvo’s most recent album is 2013’s Siberia (their second reunion album), and they last played live in 2011. Original drummer Eddie Watkins (who did not take part in the reunion) sadly passed away in 2016.
