Portland trio Honey Bucket ready debut LP (stream "Devo Hat"), touring

Portland trio Honey Bucket formed in 2012, citing influences such as The Clean, Television Personalities, and The Fall. If you dig those artists you’ll surely be into Honey Bucket’s charmingly shambolic sound. Having been championed by neighbors The Woolen Men, they’ve released a cassette, 7″ and a few digital EPs to date and are set to drop their proper debut album, Magical World, via See My Friends on September 23. Magical World is the result of Honey Bucket’s six to eight month encounter with various multi-track cassette thingies. Of the 13 songs included on Magical World, Devo Hat is among those most content to indulge in pure pop song chord-ery. Lyrics contain real-life references to family photos, Yayoi Kusama, and billy’s arm.

Honey Bucket will be on tour later this summer, including two NYC shows: September 2 at a TBD venue (it was originally to be at currently shuttered Palisades) and September 3 at Shea Stadium. No advance tickets or lineup details for those shows yet, but all dates are listed below.
