Portlandia's final season will feature Kurt Vile, Krist Novoselic, Henry Rollins, more
The final season of Carrie Brownstein and Fred Armisen’s IFC show Portlandia premieres on January 18. Every season features guest appearances by impressive musicians, and some of the Season 8 guests have been revealed. As Stereogum points out, Fred Armisen has revealed guests on Instagram, including Kurt Vile, former Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic, former Black Flag frontman Henry Rollins, and former Fugazi drummer Brendan Canty. Other first-time guests for Portlandia‘s final season include Terry Crews, Rashida Jones, Nick Kroll, John Mulaney, Tracee Ellis Ross, and David Wain, who will joing returning guests like Portlandia mayor Kyle MacLachlan, Ed Begley Jr, Jeff Goldblum and Kumail Nanjiani.
In related news, Carrie Brownstein’s Sleater-Kinney bandmate Corin Tucker’s indie rock supergroup Filthy Friends (which sometimes counts Krist Novoselic as a member) played NYC last night.
