Poster Children - Daisychain Reaction

Poster Children celebrating 'Daisychain Reaction' 25th anniversary with tour

Late 80s/early 90s alt-rock vets Poster Children are celebrating the 25th anniversary of their 1991 LP, Daisychain Reaction. Produced by Steve Albini and originally released on Twin-Tone (Creation in the UK) before getting reissued by Sire, Daisychain Reaction spawned the memorable single “If You See Kay.” The LP fits right in with a lot of the noisy but still accessible college rock from the time, and fans of Fugazi, Superchunk and Helium can probably find a lot to get behind with these guys.

Part of that celebration is they’ll be touring for the first time since 2004, playing mostly songs from Daisychain era (they are not playing the LP in full, though), starting in their hometown (Champaign, IL) at Pygmalion Fest. They’ll make their way up to NYC for a show at Saint Vitus on September 29, and tickets for that go on sale Friday, June 10 at 11 AM.

There may be other Daisy Chain Reaction news soon. Stay tuned. Meanwhile, Poster Children’s Rick Valentin has stayed busy over the years, having released a solo album last year.

All dates listed, along with the video for “If You See Kay” and a stream of the whole LP, below.
