power-pop vets The Jigsaw Seen released new comp on Burger (listen), playing East Coast shows after SXSW

Los Angeles band The Jigsaw Seen have been making chiming, crunchy power pop for nearly 30 years. If you dig XTC’s later, Beatlesque records but wish they had a little more kick, you should really check these guys out. New compilation For the Discriminating Completist was released by Burger Records at the end of 2016, collecting non-LP singles, b-sides and more. It makes a great starting point for newbies, as well as an essential gap-filler for fans. You can stream the whole thing below.

The Jigsaw Seen are in Austin this week for SXSW, playing a couple shows including the Burgermania extravaganza at Hotel Vegas on Saturday (3/18). They’ll then play a few East Coast shows, including Asbury Park’s The Saint on March 23 with The Tide Bends, and NYC’s Bowery Electric on March 30 with New York Junk and New Rock City. Tickets for both of those shows are on sale now.
