Power Trip haven't released an album since 2017's Nightmare Logic, which remains a killer album (you may it's one of the top 10 metal albums of the decade), but it looks like they're finally ready to put out a followup next year. "I can say with almost 90 percent certainty, barring any unforeseen disasters, there will be a new Power Trip record in 2020," frontman Riley Gale recently told Decibel. Needless to say, exciting news!

Until then, Power Trip have a couple things to tide us over. They recently put their 2018 Adult Swim single "Hornet's Nest" on streaming services, and today they released a cover that they're contributing to an upcoming tribute album to NYHC legends Outburst. It's called Hot Shit Attitude: The Outburst Covers Record, and it's coming out on January 31 via Blackout Records, alongside a limited vinyl LP reissue of Outburst's classic 1989 7" Miles To Go. The tribute album also features covers by Higher Power, Fury, Wild Side, Krimewatch, Initiate, Mizery, and more. You can pre-order it at Indiegogo.

Power Trip's contribution is a cover of "When Things Go Wrong," and they mostly stay faithful to the original but they breathe new life into the song and add in the thrashy blunt force that Power Trip are best known for. Listen and check out the full tracklist for the tribute album below.

Power Trip also have tons of tour dates coming up in 2020, beginning with their own Evil Beat 2 festival in Dallas in January, and also including Domination Fest, Sonic Temple, Welcome to Rockville, Coheed & Cambria's cruise, Epicenter, and a Europe/UK tour with Lamb of God and Kreator. All dates are listed below.
