Praise Leave It All Behind

Praise opening for Paint It Black, playing DC's Damaged City Fest (lineup)

Baltimore melodic hardcore band Praise have been winning over everyone lately. Their 2016 release Leave It All Behind, which was produced by punk-scene leader Will Yip and released on REACT! Records, was called one of the best releases of the year by Touche Amore and Derek from Defeater. Ned from Title Fight had its 2014 predecessor on his best-of list from that year. If you haven’t heard Leave It All Behind, it’s basically a love letter to Revolution Summer (a la Dag Nasty, Embrace, etc), and Praise do that sound well. You can stream the whole thing below.

The band, which shares members with Angel Du$t and Turnstile, have some cool shows coming up this year. They’re opening Paint It Black‘s sole US show of 2017, which goes down on 4/20 in Philly and has the very well-curated lineup of Downtown Boys, Gouge Away, and Soul Glo. That show is sold out.

Praise also play DC’s stacked Damaged City Fest, which goes down from April 6-9 with The Marked Men, Angel Du$t, Fury, Hank Wood and the Hammerheads, Battery, Glue, Krimewatch, Vanity, Red Death, Exit Order and more. Check out the full lineup, as it currently stands, below. More bands and ticket info TBA.
