Primus & Mastodon played two NYC-area shows (Coney Island pics, setlists, videos)
Primus and Mastodon are on tour together now, having played the NYC area twice this past weekend: Friday (6/1) at Asbury Park’s Convention Center (moved from Stone Pony Summer Stage due to weather) and Sunday (6/3) at the Ford Amphitheater @ Coney Island Boardwalk. We caught the Coney Island show, where Primus played last year’s The Desaturating Seven start to finish along with a handful of other songs, and Mastodon played a large chunk of last year’s Emperor of Sand plus older faves. After this tour, Mastodon will hit the road with another classic alternative band, Dinosaur Jr, and they just added Port Chester, NY and Silver Spring, MD shows to that tour. Tickets for Port Chester and Silver Spring are on BrooklynVegan presale now (password = BrooklynVegan).
