Punk Island 2018 in pics

The annual Punk Island went down on Saturday (6/23), bringing TONS of punk bands to Randall’s Island. Punk Island usually happens under the bright, burning hot sun, so it was a nice change that it was kinda overcast and cool this year. One highlight of the many, many cool bands was Japan’s Seppuku Pistols, who were making their NY debut (and then they played in Times Square immediately after). They played in traditional Japanese garb and used traditional Japanese instruments, and it was unlike anything we’ve ever seen at Punk Island. “We are from the punk island of Japan!,” one member of the band yelled at one point. They also covered the Dead Kenendys’ “Too Drunk to Fuck.” The crowd went nuts for them. Pictures of the very fun day are below.
